I've been working on this song intermittently for more than a year--a victim of neglect, life events, and many technical disasters in the recording process.

The title is taken from Lucy Does a Commercial, "the second greatest television episode of all time" according to Nick at Nite.

The lyrics were inspired by various narcissists.

This song features:

Terry Dumdei, an amazing guitarist in Flagstaff. He provided the rockin' guitar. Throw money at him if you get a chance.

Anne Wittke, a friend who sang at my wedding, and was a good sport to help out with the background and bridge vocals here.

And this is rare: I kind of like my vocal performance on this song. How did I ever do that inflection on "bald-headed clown?"

The Pelosi Car parody reveals more about conservative anxieties

This is supposed to be funny, but really it's a revealing glimpse into the paranoia of the wingnut psyche. Or perhaps a laundry list of conservative canards.



I'm sure they thought they covered every base:

• Unemployment ala 1970s
  
• Rationing
• Impotence
• Command Economics
• Al Gore
• Homophobia
• Chappaquiddick
• NPR
• Unions
• Wealth Redistribution
• Public Transportation
• Barack Hussein Obama
  

But I think they could have done better, and covered the entire wingnut checklist:

They left out several important features:

• Pregnancy-detecting seats with automatic abortion.
• Includes blanket permit for use in any Gay Pride parade (but not Veterans Day, Memorial Day, or Independence Day parades).
• Firearm trade-ins available -- it's mandatory anyway.
• Owners manual printed in 27 languages, including Arabic.
• Fits through the smallest illegal border tunnel for easy commuting.
• Free parking inside the Jersey-barrier perimeter of any government building.
• Built-in GPS continuously sends your location to nearest black helicopter.

Too subtle, eh?

The Munsters Theme

This is my adaptation of the Munsters Theme.

I created this about 17 years ago when I was in The Peace Corps, apparently with not enough to do.

This has always been my favorite TV theme song, but I never recorded my version until now, thanks to a loaner nylon string guitar.
